Executive Assistant
Salary: £24,842 pro-rata
Location: Based in Huddersfield and/or Batley, with travel across Kirklees
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Contract: Part-Time and Permanent (21 hours per week)
About Outlookers:
Outlookers is a local sight loss charity supporting more than 600 people across Kirklees. The organisation is committed to helping people with visual impairment live independently and remain connected within their communities through practical support, advice, advocacy, and inclusive services.
Outlookers works closely with individuals, families, professionals, volunteers, and local partners to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and ensure people living with sight loss can access the support and opportunities they need.
The Role of Executive Assistant & Sighted Support Worker to the CEO:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this varied and rewarding role combines executive assistance, organisational support, and practical sighted assistance to enable the CEO, who is visually impaired, to carry out their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
Working within a busy and fast-paced charity environment, you will support the CEO with a wide range of operational and administrative tasks, including preparing reports and documentation, supporting grant applications and reporting processes, maintaining records and databases, assisting with financial administration, and coordinating meetings and communications.
The role also involves providing practical support with accessing printed, visual, and online information, helping to ensure systems, documents, and processes remain fully accessible. You may also accompany the CEO to meetings or events, providing sighted assistance where appropriate.
We are keen to hear from organised, proactive, and adaptable individuals with strong administrative and communication skills who can confidently manage a varied workload while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
You will have experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, alongside experience working with databases and organisational systems. Strong attention to detail, the ability to summarise information clearly, and confidence working independently are essential. Experience supporting a visually impaired person, working within the charity sector, or using Charity Log or similar systems would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a purpose-driven organisation making a real difference to people living with sight loss across Kirklees.
